Boda Girls empowers…

women and girls in rural Kenya by building a women’s taxi collective. The program offers driving lessons and motorcycle taxi rentals to girls/women returning to finish high school. Entrepreneurship training, employment, and sisterhood of service in this two-year program allow women to purchase their own bikes, and start college or another business after completion. The drivers double as health workers who safely escort vulnerable young girls to and from school, provide menstruation, self-esteem, and self-defense education, distribute sustainable menstruation kits, and offer free rides to all women going to the Matibabu Hospital where many services are provided for free to women, including family planning.
