If you have been to Be in Health® in Thomaston for a conference or a retreat, you know that the sanctuary is ready for some needed renovation and improvements. We want to do this for all our guests so that we can better serve them and make it more convenient for everyone.
If you have not been to Thomaston, the Hope of the Generations® sanctuary is where Be in Health holds the For My Life®, Walk Out Workshop® and For My Life eXpanded® retreats as well as all the conferences on campus. Now, I want to explain to you why the sanctuary is ready for renovation by telling you what others have experienced.
It may have been winter when you were in attendance at a retreat or conference, and you had to get a blanket from the basket in the back to stay warm. Perhaps you were here in the summer and struggled to stay awake because the sanctuary had become too warm in the afternoon. Maybe you needed to use the restroom and had to run through the rain to get there because it is located in a different building. You might have been enjoying a coffee in the Connection Lounge and couldn’t finish it because the next class had started and drinks couldn’t be taken in to the sanctuary. These are just a few examples of the less-than-ideal conditions that attendees currently experience. You may have heard about others!
The plan is to gut the sanctuary, relocate the stage to the far end, polish the concrete floors, add windows, add bathrooms, relocate the resource center to the sanctuary and build a 2nd story for the control booth and program directors offices. We will put in a drop ceiling so that we can insulate and install air ducts to properly heat and cool the facility. We will insulate and drywall the walls to complete the renovation. The new design will provide lots of seating and still have room at the back for some tables and chairs to sit at so you can finish your beverage when the teaching begins. Doesn’t that sound great!
In 2016, after we became debt free, you helped us purchase and fully renovate The Hope Inn, The Hope Farm and Campground and most of the main ministry campus. Renovating the sanctuary is the next step to upgrade our ability to host and care for the thousand-plus people who attend one of our retreats or conferences each year.
The proposed renovation will cost about $300,000. Your gift toward this project will be a gift that keeps on giving as year after year thousands of people will enjoy the benefits of the updated facility! We hope to do this project all at once. But we may have to do it in phases. Your gift today is a great investment in our mission to establish generations of overcomers!
Sincerely,
Pastor Donna Wright
