Helping Refugees Heal, One Moment at a Time
We use Mindfulness-Based Trauma Recovery for Refugees (MBTR-R) which is a first-of-its-kind mindfulness intervention to empower refugees and asylum seekers to cultivate moments of inner refuge and safety from which healing may begin and hope may emerge.
In response to the emerging Ukrainian humanitarian and mental health crisis, we have expanded our work to urgently reach communities in crisis and launched the Ukrainian Refugee Recovery Initiative. To do this, we are working to raise $1 million in urgent support to launch, develop and scale-up our program.
This Initiative will utilize our proven mindfulness-based intervention to support forcibly displaced Ukrainians. We will help them begin to heal and recover, and thereby help to prevent the destructive long-term consequences of forced displacement for individuals, families, children, and communities.
