Warrior Canine Connection (WCC)
Warrior Canine Connection (WCC) is a non-for-profit organization that utilizes a unique form of Animal Assisted Therapy to empower returning combat Veterans who have sustained physical and psychological wounds while in service to our country. Based on the concept of Warriors helping Warriors, Veterans assist in the training of Service Dogs for fellow disabled Veterans. In doing so, they mitigate their own symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and other challenges; receive help in reintegrating back into their families and communities; and find a new mission and sense of purpose. WCC is an independent nonprofit organization with the highest ratings from Charity Navigator and Guide Star. Accredited by Assistance Dogs International (ADI), the organizations has supported the recovery and rehabilitation of 5,000 Veterans since its launch in 2011. All puppies in the WCC program are named for Veterans of all eras who served proudly in the United States Military—some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Vests for puppies in training and WCC Service Dogs are made from the uniforms of men and women who served our country at home and abroad. All of WCC’s programs and services—to include placement of Service Dogs—are provided at absolutely no cost to wounded Veterans and their Military Families. That work is made possible by thousands of generous supporters from around the country. To be a part of this life-changing work, please make a gift now.
