World Renew Disaster Response Services (DRS) is joining state-level coordination efforts with other disaster organizations to prepare a response with vulnerable people most affected by the storm in New Orleans and along the Louisiana shoreline.

With your
gift you can help to ease their suffering and deliver hope with essential food for 315 vulnerable people
displaced because of the violence.
Our goal is to raise an initial $100,000 so that we can provide food assistance to men, women and
children living in a shelter in an area where food insecurity levels are very high. Many of the displaced
people in this shelter are disabled or struggling with severe chronic illness. With these funds, we can
provide 2 hot meals a day per person for 35 days until these families can be resettled.
Communication with the affected area in Haiti has been sporadic over the weekend with large outages reported. Our team in Haiti has been connecting with partners in the area and is coordinating with the UN and the Red Cross. Haiti is now bracing for Tropical Depression Grace.
We are working to meet urgent needs this week. This includes providing tarps for shelter and non-food item (NFI) kits that contain household and personal care items for families who have lost their homes. At the same time, we are taking part in assessment efforts to determine medium-term needs.
