Many Georgians enjoy full and healthy lives.  But too many are left hurting, without the essential things they need to flourish.

In the last decade alone, the poverty rate in Georgia has increased nearly 50 percent, with close to 20 percent of the population now considered to be living in poverty.

Lack of education, limited employment opportunities, and family breakdown create barriers for struggling Georgians who should be thriving.  Many of these families, these children, are stuck in cycles of poverty and brokenness without a clear path out. 

But there is hope.

At the Georgia Center for Opportunity, we know the power of a quality education, stable employment, and healthy family life.  These are the basic things that a person needs to flourish, all part of what is known as the Success Sequence.

That is why we make education, employment, and family stability the focus of our efforts;  so that we can see the awful cycles of poverty and brokenness ended.  We are in the business of human flourishing and the Success Sequence promises the best chance for that.
