The Charlotte Woolwine Scholarship for Sole Caregivers of Minor Dependants at Virginia Western

Giving caregivers the care and opportunities they deserve.

Virginia Western offers care, concern and support for student caregivers, helping them build futures of stability, opportunity and hope for themselves and their families. The Charlotte Woolwine Scholarship for Sole Caregivers of Minor Dependants helps student parents/caregivers acheive their career and academic goals - and understands the special demands on their lives.

Funds from the Scholarship shall provide assistance for the student who is the sole-support provider parent/individual appointed with legal custody and guardianship of one or more children.
Funds from the Scholarship shall provide assistance for up to two students enrolled full- or part-time, pursuing an associate degree in any financial-aid eligible program of study.
Funding is capped at $5,000 per student per academic year ($2,500 per semester); funds may be used for tuition, books, fees, living expenses.
The scholarship is automatically renewable for a second year if the recipient maintains eligibility. Priority will be given to students demonstrating financial need.
