That’s what we’re aiming for this year at WPRB Princeton. We’ve made it 78 years thanks to your support, but that’s practically nothing if we want to live forever. Keeping community-supported, independent radio in it for the long haul is no easy task; we’ve had to ask you to keep us on the air each year during our annual membership drive, but you’ve made it happen without fail. As we look to the future of independent media, we want to be able to promise local artist communities that we can continue to provide a platform for their work beyond just the next 365 days.
That’s why we’ve introduced sustaining monthly pledge options.
You promise to be a part of our team year-round, and we promise to keep the unheard sounds of the world on our airwaves and in your ears for years to come.
2018 is a big year for WPRB. We haven’t had an on-air membership drive in 18 months, and we’re gearing up for our longest one yet: 10 days of unimaginable, improbable, can’t-turn-it-off radio. We’ll have more premiums, more programs, more noises, and more community than we’ve ever had. Last month, we received handfuls of amazing WPRB graphic designs in our art collection campaign from some gifted listeners, and we can’t wait to share it all with you. We have enamel pins, t-shirts, turntable slipmats, stickers, tote bags, and more just waiting to jump into your hands at the end of the drive. Yes, that’s correct — more stuff, for a lower donation up front. We want your station membership to be more than just a gift; it’s a sustainable partnership.
If we’ve learned anything this past year, it’s that change can come quickly from any direction. Here at WPRB, we want to be on the driving side of that change, and we can only do that with your continued support. Now more than ever, we need to listen to the unheard voices, and our mission as an organization is to continue to seek out those voices and bring them to you. Your contribution to WPRB Princeton ensures that the fate of our programming is never up in the air, and that independent art is always on the air.
