We’ve created The Bradford Frost Memorial SIT Study Abroad Scholarship Fund to honor Bradford’s lifelong commitment to connecting with people—whether in his Detroit neighborhood or on the other side of the world. Through those connections, Bradford would identify and address issues that were weighing down those who needed help. Keeping with that tradition, this scholarship will be used to provide need-based scholarship support to students interested in participating in an SIT Study Abroad program.
As many of you know, Bradford traveled to South Africa with SIT Study Abroad in 2004 studying reconciliation and development, and to Switzerland in 2003 on SIT Study Abroad’s International Studies and Multilateral Diplomacy program. These SIT experiences had a profound impact on Bradford’s view of the world.
Bradford always pushed those around him to be the best version of themselves. He was a fierce friend, an awesome husband, and an engaged advocate for social justice. And he did it all with a smile and sense of humor that could move mountains. With this scholarship, we hope to honor Bradford and keep his good work going.
Continuing Bradford’s commitment to ensuring that all people have the opportunity to reach their potential, this scholarship fund aims to offer promising students from public universities, community colleges, or HBCUs the chance to study abroad—students who are too often underrepresented in college study abroad programs.
We've launched this scholarship fund with the goal of raising $10,000 by the end of 2018. Please join our effort to honor Bradford through this scholarship by making a gift today.
