Monica Medeiros has dedicated her life to public service. She was elected seven times to represent the City of Melrose and has the distinction of serving on the School Committee, as the Ward Two Alderman (now known as "City Councilor") and finally as a City Councilor-at-Large. She was elected three times by her peers to be President of the Massachusetts Municipal Councillors' Association representing city and town councillors across the Commonwealth, and served many years on the Massachusetts Municipal Association Board of Directors.
