#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when The Wish List Project and thousands of other non-profit organizations focus on their holiday and end-of-year fundraising.
The Wish List Project Educational Enrichment Grants for Students
are designed to assist low income families and their children who wish to develop themselves further through extracurricular activities, leadership skills training or by acquiring educational tools to help meet their goals. Professionals from the community are invited to nominate someone who shows potential and need, but hasn’t had the opportunities or resources. Types of grants that may be funded: fees and registration costs, senior year activities, workshops, tutoring, cultural programs, transit assistance, supplies for college classes, and sports, music and art equipment.
Your financial support provides opportunities for local kids to pursue their interests and acquire resources their families cannot afford. Whether it’s music, athletics, art, technology or leadership, extracurricular activities help young people develop self confidence and a sense of control in their lives. It’s been shown that this positive development leads to successes in school and in life. It also helps our community as a whole by increasing graduation rates, creating a better prepared work force, and reducing crime and poverty rates. You can choose a particular student you’d like to support or allow us to apply it where it is needed most.
DONATIONS OF GOODS OR SERVICES - New or nearly new sports equipment, athletic shoes, art supplies, musical instruments, music and art instruction, laptops/notebooks, tutoring, copy paper, school supplies and gift cards are needed also.
