If kids aren’t comfortable in their shoes they can’t move with success. If kids can’t move with success, they will struggle to build the essential strengths and skills they need to be the best they can be socially, emotionally, behaviorally and cognitively. Even better, when kids have confidence in how their bodies move, they have confidence on the playground,
in the classroom and most importantly, in life.
More than 90% of the children at Bensley Elementary School in Richmond’s Chesterfield County are on a reduced or free lunch program. If providing lunch is already a struggle, then buying comfortable athletic shoes in which to move is likely even more challenging for their families.
River Road Church Preschool and Pop, Hop & Rock™ have joined forces with the non-profit Shoes that Fit, to put brand new athletic shoes on 75 Bensley children this fall. Just $30 puts a pair of shoes on one child. If you want to make a contribution of $15, we can partner you with another family to build a complete pair! Help us reach our goal by October 31! When you do, you will help more Richmond kids be happy, healthy, active and confident.
The class that helps out with the MOST pairs of shoes will get a 30-minute Pop, Hop & Rock™Party Celebration!
Donate today and make a change for a Richmond child.
Shoes That Fit is a 501(c)3 non-profit, whose mission is to tackle one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play, and thrive.
