The Phillips Brooks House Association's Mission Hill Summer Program keeps students from low-income families in Boston's Mission Hill neighborhood engaged over the summer with classroom time and fun activities. Our program costs no more than $50 per student for the entire summer, so we need to raise additional funds to cover the costs of running the camp so that our students receive the experience they deserve. I hope you'll help support this incredible program!
Mission Hill Summer Program (MHSP) seeks to foster academic and personal developmental skills among Mission Hill youth in an interactive, innovative, and enjoyable learning environment. MHSP’s college and high school student staff aim to strengthen academic, violence prevention, and community building skills of each camper by exposing them to new concepts and ideas.
MHSP serves 80 campers and their families with an affordable and engaging seven-week summer day camp while employing at least nine teens from Mission Hill. Founded in 1989 at the request of Mission Hill parents, MHSP has become an institution in the neighborhood, developing deep partnerships with families and community-based organizations. MHSP offers a safe environment for campers to learn through classroom instruction, public service projects, and field trips.
