This summer, help a child experience the same excitement you felt receiving your first book
Do you remember your first book?
Do you remember falling in love with reading and learning?
by participating in the Class of 1984 Reunion Community Service Project!
Your tax-deductible donation* will help PBHA's Summer Urban Program (SUP) buy books** that will be used by SUP's college student staff to improve the literacy of 800 low-income youth. At the end of the summer, all books will be given to campers to share with their families and build their own home libraries.
Give a book, contribute to a child's love of learning!
SUP is a network of 10 quality, affordable day camps and an evening ESL program for immigrant and refugee teens. SUP is staffed by 130 college students and 90 at-risk high-schoolers, who teach and mentor Boston-area children for seven weeks every summer. SUP offers them mornings of academic enrichment, afternoons of educational field trips, and artistic, cultural, health, and violence-prevention activities, along with an overnight camping trip. No family is ever turned away because of financial need.
