Back to School Backpack Project
August launches the back-to-school frenzy of families shopping for school essentials. According to the National Retail Federation survey, a family with children between elementary and high school will spend approximately $688 this year on their child's back-to-school essentials. Of these essentials, school supplies (including backpacks) are one of the most significant areas of this expense. For some families, this causes stress and financial anxiety.
No family should have to decide between buying their child's school supplies and paying for rent or utilities.
At NeighborWorks, we have decided to help lift this burden. Our goal is to provide 120 backpacks filled with school supplies to the children in our properties. We will distribute these at the Back to School Barbecue later this month at our Winter Gardens property.
Will you help us reach our goal?
