The magical black-tie evening will take place on Saturday, October 7, under twinkling lights in the heart of downtown Raleigh. City Plaza will be transformed with sparkling chandeliers seeming to hang from the sky under translucent tenting. At beautifully adorned tables running along Fayetteville Street, arts lovers of our community will come together to enjoy a meal envisioned and prepared by James Beard Award-winner Vivian Howard—co-owner of Kinston, North Carolina’s much-raved-about Chef and the Farmer restaurant, star of PBS’s A Chef’s Life, and author of the new book Deep Run Roots. Guests will enjoy cocktails and a delicious dinner in Vivian's tradition of local, farm-to-table ingredients, while musical vignettes will delight attendees at key moments throughout the evening. The 2017 Gala supports the North Carolina Symphony in our mission to bring inspiring classical music performances and invaluable music education to the entire state of North Carolina.
