The Brother Anthony Freeman Seminarian Memorial Scholarship Fund

On April 2, 2018, Br. Anthony Freeman, LC, was called home to Our Lord a day after serving as an acolyte for Pope Francis at the Easter morning Mass. He had the distinct honor of carrying the cross in the opening procession.

At just 29 years old, he was a third-year theology student at Rome's Pontifical Regina Apostolorum University and was scheduled to be ordained a deacon this coming July 7th in Houston.

Br. Anthony was born in Houma, Louisiana, USA to Brian and Debbie Freeman in 1988, and studied at Legionary institutes in Center Harbor, New Hampshire; Colfax, California; Cheshire, Connecticut; and Thornwood, New York. He started studying in Rome in 2013 and received the ministry of acolyte in 2017.

He called himself a “difference maker” and strived to share the many ways each individual can make a difference through his social media presence. This "millennial" seminarian used social media and email to connect with and inspire countless people to seek holiness and happiness in Christ.

Please support the Br. Anthony Memorial Seminarian Scholarship Fund.  Your donation ensures that Br. Anthony’s legacy of faith and hope continues through the young men who are on their journey toward priesthood at Legion of Christ College in Cheshire, CT.  A full year scholarship is $33,000.
