During the week of November 13-17th The Junior League of Morristown is launching The Little Black Dress Initiative; a social awareness campaign, which will seek to increase knowledge the poverty in NJ, by asking our members to wear one black dress for a week to: 1. Highlight the effects of a lack of access to resources and to provide the JLM a platform to share about the work we do to help in these issue areas; 2. Understand how limited resources can affect daily life; and 3. Fundraise

The Junior League of Morristown is dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of teens in Morris County and surrounding areas to ensure ample food, resources and education needed to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. During the vulnerable teenage years, teens are building their foundation for a healthy life: nutrition health, mental health and financial health. Poverty limits your resources, your options and even the ways you can express yourself - making it harder for you to better your life choices.

During the week of November 13th - 17th, the Junior League of Morristown is launching The Little Black Dress Initative, a social awareness campaign which will seek to increase knowledge about poverty in Morris County, especially among teens. Participants will demonstrate the limits that poverty has by wearing one black outfit for five working days to:

1. Highlight the effects of a lack of access to resources and to provide the JLM a platform to share about the work we do to help in these issue areas;

2. Understand how limited resources can affect daily life; and

3. Fundraise supporting the mission of the JLM to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve the lives of women and children in our community.

Please consider making a donation to The Little Black Dress Initiative. All money raised will go to support the Junior League of Morristown in its efforts addressing the unmet needs of teens in Morris County and surrounding areas to ensure ample food, resources and education needed to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle through programs like Teen Alley, Children Making Healthy Choices and Helping Hands.
