During the week of November 14-18th The Junior League of Morristown is launching The Little
Black Dress Initiative; a social awareness campaign, which will seek to increase knowledge the
poverty in NJ, by asking our members to wear one black dress for a week to:

1. Highlight the effects of a lack of access to resources and to provide the JLM a platform to
share about the work we do to help in these issue areas;
2. Understand how limited resources can affect daily life; and
3. Fundraise supporting the mission of the JLM to promote volunteerism, develop the
potential of women, and improve the lives of women and children in our community.

The Junior League of Morristown has an issue based community impact area focus on the
unmet needs of teens. During these vulnerable years, teens are building their foundation for a
healthy life: nutrition health, mental health and financial health. Poverty limits your resources,
your options and even the ways you can express yourself - making it harder for you to better
your life choices. We impact these areas through our community projects, financial support, and
thousands of volunteer hours, in an effort to fulfill our mission of improving the community through
effective action and leadership.

This is our first awareness campaign, so your support is critical to making this campaign a success.
Please consider making a donation to the The Little Black Dress Initiative which supports our
programs such as Colonial Closet, Children Making Healthy Choices, Helping Hands, and many
others.

All money raised will go to support the Junior League of Morristown in its efforts to resolve issues
tied to teen health in the greater Morristown community!
