The Junior League of Monmouth County is thrilled to announce the Little Black Dress Initiative. Over the five-day campaign, the JLMC will also highlight the widespread impact of the League's 81-year legacy, such as food insecurity projects and period poverty initiatives. One of the first JLMC projects was the Milk Fund, initially financed by selling tickets to the 1939 New York City World Fair, which provided milk for six local families. Over the next 30 years, this project grew to provide milk to families around the Red Bank area.

The JLMC is a 100% volunteer‐driven organization, comprised of more than 300 women, living in both Monmouth and Ocean counties, who give 20,000 hours of volunteer service annually to our community. Founded in 1939, the JLMC has sponsored young girls to attend summer leadership camps, given over 100 girls the tools to stay healthy through our Kids in the Kitchen program, empowered our collaborations with Horizons, 180° Turning Lives Around, HABcore, and Food Justice at Trinity Church. The JLMC brought the Girls On The Run program to Monmouth County in 2014, helping nearly 5,000 girls build self-esteem while achieving their goal to complete the JLMC-hosted annual 5K events. Continued support allows the JLMC to bring ground-breaking collaborative leadership and civic engagement programs to Monmouth County.
