Grandmother needs help to get her grandson off to college
UPDATE: Donald needs books!
We were just informed some expected funding for books has fallen through. We have increased our goal to cover this cost for Donad's freshman year.
It was an exciting day when the acceptance letter came offering Donald a full scholarship to attend Middle Georgia State University where he plans to study Aviation. Donald's grandmother has raised him since he was an infant and it hasn't been easy, especially now that she is disabled at 66. The family's only income is from Social Security, which doesn't allow for any extras. His grandmother even needed help with the high school graduation fees so that Donald could walk on the stage to receive his diploma with the rest of his class.
So, the list of items a college bound freshman needs for his dorm is enough to make her cry. We told her we'd ask our friends and supporters if they might be able to help. This family has been in Project GRANDD since 2012 and they are so grateful for all the help they have received - it's meant that Donald has the chance to go to college!
