“Healing Justice” examines the impact of trauma and redefines justice within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, to move us toward empathy, reconciliation, and healing to bring about social and transformative change.
We hope this event will raise awareness around the issues of the criminal justice system and the school-to-prison-pipeline with an emphasis on affected youth from marginalized and vulnerable communities. We also hope this shows you how restorative approaches help to rehabilitate and change lives.
Through a panel discussion and community conversation, we also want our community to think about the systemic racial and socioeconomic issues that are at the core of why many individuals are suffering from various forms of trauma and how, historically, punitive measures have done more harm than good.
By supporting the DRC through events like these you are impacting the many lives we touch by helping community members through personal crisis’ to resolve their own conflict and begin on a path towards healing and reconciliation.
