Leo is an adorable three-year old diagnosed with Autism. When he visited ECAD, his parents knew immediately that a Service Dog would help Leo tremendously.
Meet ECAD Client Leo Golusinski
“My name is Leo! I am three years old and I have lots of energy! My favorite things are music, playing outside and reading books at night! I know I can learn to like other things like shopping with my mom, eating out with my family, or going to birthday parties. But right now those things are hard for me. I get nervous in loud, large environments so I try to run and find a place to hide. I haven’t learned to talk yet so it’s very hard to make friends my age. My best friend is my dad, but ….maybe having a dog will help me make some human friends too.
“I can’t wish to not have Autism because then I wouldn’t be me! So instead I wish for a best friend who can help me with some of the obstacles along the way.”
Choosing to make a donation will change Leo’s world in every imaginable way: Safety, Structure, Empathy, Socialization. And, so much more! Autism is not a disability one can easily see, and being out in public can be incredibly difficult and sometimes traumatizing for an Autistic child. An ECAD service dog will provide Leo with a voice, stability, and a love that humans may not understand.
Thank you for your generous gifts to ECAD in honor of Leo Golusinski.
