“When we visited ECAD’s Canine Education and Wellness Center and met several of the Service Dogs-in-Training, I knew
immediately that a service dog will improve Killian’s quality of life.” Chantel Polarolo, Killian’s mom
Meet ECAD Client Killian Polarolo
Killian Polarolo is a wonderful four-year-old boy diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy with Dystonia. Physically, Killian is completely dependent on another person in order to move anywhere. He cannot sit up on his own, crawl, or walk. Killian uses his wheelchair, gait trainer, and prone stander to get around.
Killian is one tough and determined young boy that has already accomplished tons of hard work in his short life. He currently does physical therapy four times a week, speech once a week, aqua therapy once a week, music therapy once a week, and occupational therapy three times a week.
His parents and older sister knew from a young age—nine months old—that Killian has CP; however, they have done everything that they can to give him independence and as much of a normal life as he can achieve.
With an ECAD Service Dog by Killian’s side, it will improve his life tremendously both on a physical and emotional level. He will be more independent at home as well as out in the community. Having his service dog will help Killian in regular day-to-day activities such as turning on/off lights, picking up dropped objects from the floor, propping up to sitting independently with support of the dog, opening and shutting doors, and gaining self-esteem at occasions with his peers.
Thank you, on behalf of Killian and other quadriplegic children and adults who benefit from the independence that an ECAD Service Dog can add to their lives. Your tax-deductible donation is enormously appreciated.
Thank you for your generous gifts to ECAD in honor of Killian Polarolo.
Donations are 100% tax-deductible as allowable by law. If your employer has a Matching Gift program, please complete the form and
