When Kevin and his wife visited ECAD and met some of the Service Dogs- in-Training, he knew immediately
that being paired with a specially-educated dog would improve his quality of life.
Meet ECAD Client Kevin Palmer
It’s a common belief that when one rescues a dog, you’re changing the dog’s life by letting it experience the best day of its life every day—because of you.
But what if you had the chance to BE rescued by a dog? What if you weren’t teaching a dog about its new life, but instead, the dog was teaching YOU how to live a better life?
I have been blessed with this opportunity; and, I couldn’t be more excited! With an ECAD Service Dog, I know I am going to have a better life.
I spent several years overseas with the military and a year-long deployment left me with unsavory memories and a difficult time adjusting back to my normal life. At age twenty-two, I’ve already encountered many of life’s hurdles and I believe a specially-educated service dog will help restore the enjoyment my family and I once had. The dog will be able to wake me from recurring night terrors, warn me of strangers approaching me in public, and even alert me when it’s time to go somewhere else to avoid having an episode.
The ability to have an ECAD Service Dog with me every step of the way is beyond appealing—it will make an enormous change for the better in my life because the dog will rescue ME.
