"When we visited ECAD and met several of the Service Dogs-in-Training, our family knew immediately that a service dog will improve Julian’s quality of life” Lisa De La Rosa, Julian’s mom
Meet ECAD Client Julian De La Rosa
The boy behind the smile loves Friday pizza, Saturday pancakes, Sunday baseball, nightly story time, and daily snuggles. Julian is enjoying his childhood as much as the next boy or girl, he just does things a little bit different.
At the age of two years, Julian was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. When he turned thre years old he developed seizure disorder. Hemiplegia affects the right side of the body, which inhibits Julian's ability to walk independently and complete basic self-care tasks. Other developmental delays and sensory challenges sometimes limit his enjoyment of public venues.
Regardless of these challenges, Julian starts each day with excitement and determination. He works hard in all of his therapies and loves going to school to see his friends. By adding the support of an ECAD Service Dog, Julian will have new opportunities to increase his independence. Having a furry buddy by his side will also assist him in adapting to environments that can trigger agitation and discomfort.
Julian is meant to have a life without limits. We are grateful and humbled by all your support and generosity.
