Support ECAD’s Capital Campaign in honor of Service Dog Garrison
Hello, my name is Elena. Meet Garrison, my eleven-year-old Golden Retriever service dog who is also my constant companion and best friend. He was bred, educated and placed by ECAD to help the disabled lead more independent lives. Unfortunately, Garrison has been diagnosed with bone cancer, causing the loss of his right leg.
After two years of training, Garrison began his career working for a young girl afflicted with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. When, sadly, she passed away at the age of twelve, Garrison became very depressed; it was clear that he needed to be paired as a service dog for another wheelchair bound person. Garrison’s original family made the ultimate sacrifice — they returned him to ECAD for reassignment. This is when he came into my life.
Ever since that day, Garrison has never stopped working for me, constantly by my side. Never too tired or sick to help me, until now…. I am so grateful for Garrison, and to his prior family, and to the entire ECAD family for giving me such a priceless gift. Garrison has helped the disabled his whole life and now he is disabled.
This is why I want to return the gift — by donating and raising funds “In Garrison’s Honor” to support ECAD’s Capital Campaign for its new Canine Education and Wellness Center. The state-of-the-art building will enable ECAD to educate and place more service dogs, allowing others to receive and benefit from service dogs like Garrison.
Thank you for your generous gifts to ECAD’s Capital Campaign in honor of Garrison.
