With an ECAD Service Dog by her side, Amanda will gain back her independence and quality of life.

Meet ECAD Client Amanda Oglesby

My name is Amanda Oglesby and I am fifty-one years old. I raised my three daughters as a single mother while working as a nurse. I am no longer able to work because of multiple health conditions. Unfortunately, my conditions are chronic and progressive—meaning they will never go away and will continue to worsen over time.

I live alone near the beach, which I love but cannot go to as much as I would like since most of the time I am in moderate to severe pain. Because of the pain, along with the limitations of my joints and muscles caused by the health conditions, I am unable to live my life as I used to. I have fatigue and weakness, and some days I am unable to get out of bed.

An ECAD Service Dog will help me with my balance, will retrieve items I’ve inadvertently dropped on the floor, and will enable me to get out of the house. My dog will increase my independence and safety as well as provide companionship and love.

Thank you for your generous gifts to ECAD in honor of Amanda Oglesby.
