"A service dog would allow me to go out in public places, travel alone safely, and attend school.”
My name is Kristina Baron and seven years ago I went through a severe trauma that has left me disabled. Therefore, I am in need of a service dog. With a special-educated service dog, I hope to gain back my freedom. A service dog would help to ground me during flashbacks and panic attacks, and wake me up when I have nightmares and night terrors. To me this would be a lifeline; and a release from the trauma that holds me captive.
In addition to the trauma, I suffer from a genetic disorder called Ehler-Danlos Syndrome and also a neurological disorder. These diseases cause dizziness, muscle weakness, and difficulty with getting around outside my home safely alone. They can flare up at any time leaving me to need assistance. My service dog would help to stabilize me physically and also be able to do tasks I cannot do on my own.
I am requesting your help in achieving more independence and freedom. It will be a hand up in my world; essentially, a “Paw” up! Thank you so graciously for taking the time to read my story and to donate. You’re assisting me not only in getting a service dog, but in getting my life back.
Thank you for your generous support of ECAD in honor Kristina.
