My name is Miranda Lara and I’m a junior at Eastwood Academy High School. I am part of the school’s soccer team and I enjoy practicing after school. I’m part of the Science National Honor Society and the National Honor Society and I was recently elected secretary of the National Honor Society. Not long ago, I started a club with one of my friends, the Women Empowerment club. Our purpose of the Women Empowerment club is to mentor middle school girls to stay in school, make good choices, and tutor them. My favorite classes are AP United States History and Engineering because they are challenging, and they require me to try my best. In my free time, I like to spend time with my brother and my family. I’ve also been trying to learn French with an app.
I’m going to a summer program at George Washington University. The program that I’m taking is in International Law. I decided to apply for that program because my biggest goal is to become a diplomat and work in the United Nations to help resolve conflicts between nations and this program will help me expand my knowledge about international relations and in the future put that knowledge into action. Going to this program will also allow me to have a real college experience. While getting to take classes in actual college classrooms with college professors, I will also be able to stay at George Washington University and live in the dorms with other students who share the same interest for international law. This program will give me the experience that I need to help me prepare for my future in college and in my career.
I would really benefit from going to this program, but I, unfortunately, wasn’t able to obtain a scholarship. I’m trying to fundraise money to pay for my program and my plane ticket. I would really appreciate your help with any donations to help pay for my program. No donation is too small, and it will be extremely helpful. I would really appreciate if you could help me achieve my goal and thank you for investing in my future.
