I am currently a junior at Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I represent my school by being a student ambassador. Outside of school, I enjoy doing a variety of things that expand my creativity and keep me busy. I like to read, draw, and cook. I also have a part time job where I work after school. Additionally, I attend the youth group at my church. After high school, my plans are to attend Texas A&M University and study pre med. Afterward, I plan to attend medical school and become an OB-GYN. I love helping people and this profession will allow me to help many women. Becoming an OB-GYN takes time and a lot of hard work. I am always focused in school. My current GPA is 3.9 and my favorite subject is AP English because it helps expand my mind and engages me in different types of literature.
By studying abroad in Japan, it will allow me to learn Japanese, a tool I can use in my professional life, as a doctor. When I begin to practice medicine, there is a high probability that patients from Japan could come seeking medical treatment, therefore learning Japanese will give me an advantage in communicating with the patients who speak the language. During my four week experience learning about Japanese Language & Culture, I plan to participate in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, interact with Japanese high schoolers, and so much more that will allow me to use the language! This program will help me get a different outlook on life and allow me to grow as a person.
With your contribution you will be sponsoring my participation in my Study Abroad opportunity and Learning about the Japanese Language and Culture this summer. I have applied and consider myself fortunate and blessed to have received a Scholarship and Financial Aid. However, I still need to contribute $1,500 towards tuition and travel. Your contribution of $10, $20 or $50 would help me meet this goal to cover the remainder of my expenses. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and for your support!
