CCHAT Center Sacramento

CCHAT Center - Sacramento is a program devoted to teaching children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen and develop spoken language. Currently, over 60 children are benefiting from CCHAT's center-based programs. CCHAT is state certified as a nonpublic school and is one of two listening and spoken language programs serving children who are deaf or hard of hearing in Northern California.

Children attending CCHAT utilize a variety of amplification systems including hearing aids, cochlear implants and personal FM systems. Through a program of individualized language therapy and a creative and imaginative curriculum, children develop competency in communication, social, and academic skills. With these skills they can actively participate in their local schools and within the community at large.

In 1996, CCHAT began with 12 children and now serves more than 200 annually through its center-based programs and mainstream support services.
