I’m participating in the 25th Annual Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk with the Community Development Partnership Walk Team to raise funds for safe, affordable year round homes on Cape Cod. Walk donations will support the CDP’s Resident Support Services program. This program supports the residents of our 73 affordable rental homes. Residents receive support with budgeting, financial planning and training in how to be a tenant. They are also connected with local resources as needed.
For the past twenty four summers, walkers representing various non-profit housing agencies on Cape Cod have walked the entire length of the Cape, through all 15 towns, to raise money for a variety of housing programs. This annual 100.3-mile, seven-day Housing With Love Walk raises money to help families from becoming homeless, to prevent homes from being foreclosed on, to help homeless families access housing, and to help disabled find decent, safe and affordable housing. Last year, 9 housing agencies participated in this walk to assist Cape families. For the 12th year in a row, the Community Development Partnership will be taking part in walk to raise money for our Affordable Housing Programs. I will be walking part of the Lower Cape portion of the route, which takes place beginning on Monday, July 10th –Wednesday, July 12th.
