The Temple is a place of refuge, mourning, and healing. The burn on the final night is a solemn ritual; a cleansing, a rite of passage, a pyre. The Temple is built by and for the community and the power of the Temple comes from the energy, dedication, and devotion of our Burning Man community. Join us and help continue this tradition of healing.

About this year’s temple:
Throughout our forests, trees are dying, compromised by a bark beetle which has proliferated due to human interruption of the cycle of forest fires and climate change. These trees, for the most part standing dead and underutilized in the forest, are being harvested and milled for this year’s Temple. Learn more at http://temple2017.org/
Why we are fundraising:
As many of you know, the Temple is partially funded through Black Rock Arts, who is contributing about a third of the funding for the hard costs of the project. The task of raising the remaining funding falls upon our Burning Man community and The Temple Crew, which is 100% volunteer. This is why we are reaching out to enlist help through donations big and small and asking all to help raise awareness by sharing the project.
