Independent Journalism Fund
Independent, ethical journalism is more important now than ever before.
Traditional models of support for journalism are in decline. As a result, voices are going unheard and issues going under-reported as media struggles to survive. For many years, the News & Review has sought to cover critical issues impacting our communities, to give a voice to the under-represented, and to increase public awareness and engagement around these issues. There is a desperate need to tell these stories.
We are currently raising funds to support journalism in the areas of COVID, wildfires, immigration, health and mental health, economic disparity, and social justice. These funds will go towards new reporting projects and will not support existing News & Review infrastructure.
Your support for community-based journalism helps bring important issues to light in a way that creates powerful community dialogue and a deeper understanding of the challenges we face. You can help us bring these stories to life in front of thousands, if not millions, of readers. With your help, we can produce independent, investigative journalism that will help create real, long-lasting change.
The Independent Journalism Fund is a non-profit and non-partisan fund that fuels independent, ethical journalism. This fund was set up in partnership with Tides, a foundation and nonprofit partner with nearly 40 years of experience building a world of shared prosperity and social justice. The Fund supports ongoing investigative journalism at News & Review on specific, targeted topics, targeted primarily towards Northern California and Northern Nevada.
Thank you for your support.
