The Community Cupboard is the oldest of Upper Valley MEND's programs. Started as a food bank by area churches in 1983, the Cupboard has grown in both size and services over the years. Today, the Cupboard is a food bank, thrift store, and resource for Emergency Assistance for residents of the Upper Valley. The Cupboard is sustained by donations of food, merchandise, and volunteer hours, as well as financial contributions.
The Upper Valley Free Health Clinic provides free urgent health care to uninsured and under-insured community members, every Monday evening. Free Dental Consultation is offered on the 1st Monday of the month. Free Clinic volunteers assist patients with free or reduced services, and prescriptions, for ongoing health & dental concerns in both English and Spanish. Last year alone, the free clinic helped hundreds of uninsured and underinsured community members live healthier lives.
