I am participating in the LBDI to raise awareness of the poverty that exists in our own community. Many of us think, or want to think, that poverty exists only somewhere else, far away from our cozy homes. Unfortunately that is not the case. I am hoping that by wearing the same dress every day, I gain a better understanding of the daily struggles that many people in our community face each day when they do not have the means to buy a closet full of clothes and wear different outfits every day. In addition, I hope that each one of us will take this opportunity to help those less fortunate among us.
